Determining the exact dosage of your homemade cannabis edibles can be one of the hardest parts of cooking with cannabis. How much CannaButter or CannaOil (or Canna-anything) do you need to add to get the exact amount of THC you want in each serving?
With this simple Cannabis Dosage Calculator, you'll be able to quickly and easily calculate exactly how many milligrams of THC are in every serving of your edibles recipe.
Frequently Asked Questions About Calculating the Amount of THC in Your Homemade Edibles
What how do I know the percentage of THC in my weed?
If you haven't purchased your marijuana at a dispensary, then you probably won't know the exact percentage of THC in your pot. A good rule of thumb is to start with 10% - that's the national average for cannabis purchased on the streets.
If you purchased from a licensed dispensary, your product should be labeled appropriately.
Now that I know how many milligrams of THC are in each serving of my recipe, how do I know how many servings I should eat?
Your tolerance for weed is completely personal and can depend on a lot of factors, including how your cannabinoid system tolerates THC, how experienced of a user you are and what eye color you have. <-- kidding. Your eye color has nothing to do with it. If you're a beginner, we recommend starting at around 10-15 milligrams of THC. Wait at least 45 minutes before ingesting more to see how you're tolerating it. Remember, it can take up to an hour for the full effects of edibles to kick in.
Is this THC calculator accurate?
Yes! But keep in mind that you may lose some % of THC during the decarb process (and you MUST decarb your weed), so there will always be a slight variation based on your decarbing results.
What should I use to infuse my weed with?
That's totally up to you! We find that we have the most flexibility with CannaButter, but Canna Oil and Canna Honey are great options as well.
