Easy Cannabis Fig and Onion Spread on Sliced Baguettes

November 22, 2020 by Cannabis Spatula 2 Comments

Looking for a delicious and easy recipe that incorporates fresh figs and cannabis? This is the recipe for you! The tasty figs combined with carmelized onions and cannabis will burst in your mouth when smeared on a fresh baguette with crumbled feta and fresh basil. Whip up a batch of the spread and save it in your refrigerator for up to 3 weeks! Perfect to serve as an appetizer or as part of your main meal (or sneak some when you need a quick and uplifting snack). YUM!

    Before You Get Started

If you’re new to cooking with cannabis, you’ll want to learn more about getting started. It’s not hard to cook with cannabis, but there are a few things you’ll need to understand first. For this recipe, you’ll need to know:

    • How to Decarb your Weed
    • How to Make Canna Oil
    • Our dosing guidelines (how much you’ll want to eat to find your perfect high). This recipe makes 16 servings.

How to Make Cannabis Fig and Onion Spread

This easy recipe is worth every second of time spent in the kitchen. You'll start by carmelizing a finely chopped red onion in Canna Oil.

Then you'll stir in your chopped figs, balsamic vinegar, and sugar to taste. After simmering for 5 - 10 minutes (or until the spread is at your desired thickness), the fun begins.

Slice a fresh baguette into 32 slices. Top each with a fresh basil leaf, crumbles of Feta cheese and one tablespoon of Fig and Onion spread. Serve hot or cold.

Each serving is two baguettes (or two tablespoons of Cannabis Fig and Onion Spread).

Can I Make Cannabis Fig and Onion Spread in Advance?

Yes! In fact, some people say it tastes even better after a week in the fridge. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.

How High Will I Get When I Eat this Cannabis Fig and Onion Spread?

This recipe makes 16 servings (two tablespoons of Cannabis Fig and Onion Spread per serving).  Assuming you’re using a marijuana with 10% THC, each serving will contain approximately 16 mg of THC per serving. If you need to adjust the dosage for any reason, use our free dosing calculator to determine the strength of each serving.

Can I Make This Recipe Dairy or Gluten Free?

With a few modifications, this recipe can easily be made dairy and gluten free. The Cannabis Fig and Onion Spread is already Dairy and Gluten Free, so you won't need to change anything with the main part of the recipe. Enjoy it by the spoonful (two tablespoons = one serving) or spread it on the gluten free bread of your choice.

If you want to make this exact recipe, you'll need to omit the feta cheese (for dairy free) and use a gluten free baguette for gluten free.

I seriously felt ridiculous when I made these for my friend's party last weekend. They're so fancy! But they were a huge hit, and everyone asked for the recipe. I used your labels to make sure that everyone knew they were edibles. They were the first thing eaten off the table.
